Our brand is empowered and driven by our employees, athletes and customers. Each and every one of us gives life to its beliefs and values, and delivers on its promise every day. It’s how we live the brand. It’s how the brand lives.

We nurture our employees by helping them develop professionally, providing them opportunities to volunteer their time, and by offering events that connect them with our brand mission to enable exploration. One of our U.S. retail employees shares his experience of joining The North Face team:

Mike Karp

"When I came to The North Face in 2009, my idea of getting outdoors was a nice day on the golf course. Since I have joined The North Face, I have run a number of 5Ks, including two Warrior Dashes. I have been rock climbing, snorkeling, kayaking, zip lining, hiking and camping in just the past few years, all of which are activities I had never done before.  The inspiration for these activities comes not only from my fellow co-workers but from the overall attitude of The North Face. This company lives up to its mantra of Never Stop Exploring and genuinely intends to inspire its employees as well as its customers. I have worked for a number of retail companies in my career, and I can honestly say that I have never worked for a company that cares for and inspires its employees more than The North Face. Here you are not just another employee number, you are an ambassador of The North Face. It’s a big responsibility, but it is well worth it. The North Face has given me the inspiration to change my life."

Athlete-Led Team Building Trips

One of the ways we inspire teamwork is by offering opportunities to connect associates with the core mission of our brand - to enable exploration. Employees can challenge themselves while having fun with their colleagues on hiking, skiing, and climbing trips led by our professional athletes. Over 200 of our European associates camped and played together near The North Face’s grueling Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc race in 2013. They were able to run, walk or hike a mini-UTMB prior to the race.
